Our Vision

When a loved one passes away, the initial sadness and pain usually triggers an outpouring of thoughts, memories and anecdotes about the individual from all the people connected to them. Most people or families do not necessarily have a way to collect and preserve all the memories or are often too overwhelmed by emotion to do so. In addition, friends and family that live far away are oftentimes unable to attend the funeral or house of mourning to share their own thoughts and feelings and thus feel somewhat disconnected, despite having what to share.

We also know too well that the sharing of memories, stories and anecdotes slows to a trickle after the initial emotional shock of the passing, but often there are many more stories waiting to be told and shared if people are given the chance.

To overcome these challenges we believe that our Leolam project is uniquely positioned to help preserve the legacy of the deceased family member, loved one, friend, mentor or hero by enabling others both near and far to share their thoughts and memories in a way that will be accessible both for current and future generations.

Leolam is a complete and interactive platform that allows the family to easily design a profile site that will collect and preserve memories, stories, photos or even videos for posterity and decides which sections are open to the public to view or contribute to.

In the first step a family member, loved one or close friend opens up an account where they  share a meaningful description of the person as well as photos and videos if relevant.

We believe that what distinguishes the Leolam project are the following combined elements:

Easy access for people either visiting the cemetery or around the world to collaborate on helping to create a legacy. While visiting the cemetery, visitors can scan a QR code which is attached to the tombstone so that they can learn more about the person, share that they visited the grave as well as share a memory, story or something that impacted them about the person.

A link to the personal page which can be shared to enable access from anywhere in the world.

A dynamic feed which can be continuously updated with comments, stories, pictures and videos etc.

Permanent storage for all profiles included in the initial modest one time fee.

This project is being run by a non-profit and is not tied to any specific funeral home or congregation and as such is open and available to Jews all over the world, regardless of their affiliation.

One last important point for us is that the profiles for Israeli soldiers, members of the  security forces, first responders and or victims of terror attacks that have been killed will be donated to their families for free. All their stories are important to preserve and helps to honor these heroes.
